Why a Band 7+ IELTS unlocks every English-speaking destination
IELTS is the most widely accepted English test for study abroad and visa purposes — required by UKVI, accepted by all Australian, Canadian, and 90% of US universities. A Band 7+ overall (with no sub-band below 6.5) is the threshold for most Russell Group, Group of Eight, and Canadian top-15 universities. For PR-track destinations like Canada and Australia, your IELTS score also feeds directly into immigration points.

IELTS FAQs
Everything aspirants ask before booking their IELTS, answered by our mentors.
Academic is required for university admissions and most professional registration. General Training is for migration to Australia, Canada, NZ, and the UK. For UK student visas, you also need the UKVI Academic variant from an approved centre.
Most universities require 6.5-7.0 overall with no sub-band below 6.0-6.5. Top programs (Oxford, LBS, Toronto Rotman) often require 7.0-7.5+ overall.
IELTS scores are valid for 2 years. Plan your test date so your score is valid through your entire application cycle.
Both are scored identically. Computer-based offers faster results (3-5 days vs 13 days) and is generally easier for typers. We recommend it for most students.
Our AI evaluator is trained on official IELTS band descriptors and gives feedback on Task Response, Coherence, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range — the exact criteria examiners use. It's a strong proxy for self-review between mentor sessions.
